Pain Reduction

by fitnessmatters2us

Headaches, back aches, joint stiffness, muscle pain, neck soreness, hurting knees, carpel tunnel, arthritis…you would be astonished by the number of people who believe they simply have to live with pain.

Can we make all the pain go away?  For some people, yes.  Not for everyone, of course.  But for those people who live with chronic pain, even reducing the pain by 40% is a quality-of-life victory for them.

How we work with pain:

  • If you are under a doctor’s care, we consult with your doctor.
Remember, we want to do no harm.
  • Then, we do an assessment and an extensive interview with you.
  • Having a multitude of specialists allows us to figure out the right mix of activities to keep you in the game of life. A combination of Physical Therapy, Muscle Activation Techniques, and Fitness Training, as appropriate, is usually an effective way to alleviate the causes of pain.

For example, if we identify muscle imbalances, we can use Fitness Training to
correct them.  If we find that the neuromuscular connections are weak or are not firing properly, we will set you up for a few Muscle Activation Techniques sessions.

  • Our Physical Therapists and MAT experts are in direct communication with our fitness trainers, letting them know what exercises to stay away from and which exercises to use to  reinforce your progress and to ensure that joint and muscle stability is being strengthened and not being compromised during exercise.
