The Fitness Matters team is all about education –via degrees and/or certifications.
Why is education so important?
Because our continuing quest for the most-up-to-date knowledge is one way we demonstrate our commitment to you that your health and fitness matter to us.
Deep knowledge of the human body is the foundation of everything we do.
We know the role of every muscle…but that is not enough, so, we also know about the communications between the brain and the muscles.
Knowledge also matters for many other reasons.
Here are a few:
- Weight loss without re-activating the muscles in the core of your body is not enough. We want to make sure your muscles are “firing”
properly. That is important to balance and to keeping weight off. - Sports preparation exercises, such as stretching can actually do you damage if your strong, active muscles are over-working because they are compensating for weaker, less engaged muscles.
- The need for “will power” to keep making progress becomes less important to having you stick with a fitness program when the right neuromuscular links are re-activated. Why? Because you feel better. A lot better.
The reactivation activities actually tell your brain you are making progress –from the very first session. As a result, your brain gains a feeling of well-being and starts to WANT you to focus on your fitness and health –rather than cause you to think it is a bore and chore.
